When the newspaper called to ask if they could come by our house to snap a few shots for a story they are doing on me and manners I said, “Perfect! I’m excited!” … and then I looked around my living room / office and every undone project from over the past 10 years of living in our home was screaming…
Remember me?
Yoo-hoo!
Over here!
These naughty little girls were saying things I can’t repeat. Down right trashy, I tell you…
So we sent them to finishing school…
and helped them become sweet little things…
with the stuffing help of two sweet things!
Then I called on Lizzie, you know her as my travel companion and all around bestest…
who took charge as only a good friend would, even calling on her companion to in her words “fix a few things “we” should have done years ago!” Love her.
Then things really started cookin’ and now, I’m so happy! I’m ready. And I even have pictures up of my family after, um, oh, sixish years.
Monday I’ll share my, okay really my sister’s, easy photo mounting project. Easy and very affordable
Do you have projects you’re sitting on or have shoved in a closet somewhere? I highly encourage you to get them out and get to work! And if you must, call your Lizzie. Not mine of course, unless your Lizzie is my Lizzie. Anyway you know what I mean. What are your projects? Please share, as sharing is half the battle!

looking swell Mrs. Lockard!
Thank you so much Jennifer!
LOOOVVVEE the pillows, Mindy. Wonderful job and great choice of fabric! I also really like the way you mounted the photos….can’t wait to hear how it’s done. One of my biggest ‘TO-DO’s’ is filling photo frames and hanging them, so this will be good. Next on the list, I guess, would be closet organization. I have so many little odds and end projects around my house, it’s not even funny. Thanks for your motivation!
Love the updated living room! I can’t wait to learn the easy photo mounting project!!
In terms of projects that need to be done…my parents moved into a new house 5 years ago this July, and they still need help putting family pictures up on the walls upstairs. Maybe I’ll convince my mom to work on it one of these upcoming weekends! Why is it so hard to hang family pictures in a new house?
I love the photos on the wall! It all looks great.
As the saying goes: You work well under pressure! Think I need someone to do a news story about me. Everything looks lovely, after this is over, you will be so glad it’s done! Amazing what you can accomplish when you’re under the gun!
Nothing like company, the press especially, to really get a girl to kick it into high gear! The results are beautiful! Can you send them over to my house in about a week? I’ll start getting ready now
Thanks everyone! Yes, Elizabeth I will send them over! Alisa & Emily, The mounting is so easy, I can’t wait to share!
Thanks Kelsey, I appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring, Mindy! My life is one big unfinished project. So I just sit at blogs and live vicariously
PS: I love Lizzie!!! God broke the mould when he made her.
Hi Mindy,
It’s amazing what’s get done when we are pressured with a deadline.
Yes your pillows look great. What kind of sewing machine do you have, is it good for a beginner? Lucky to have such a good friend to roll up your sleeves with.
Best wishes,
BarG
I know that mounting trick! I did it for a very large square print that rests above our bed. A traditional frame would not have worked. Great job on everything!
