I had the most wonderful time in Seattle over the weekend celebrating a noble cause, DIFFA!

Friday night, I walked the red carpet with some fabulous people Dave Masin, Kathy Greeley, Tobi Fairley, and John Stevens …

donated a couple of my favorite Sheaffer Pens to the cause…

and spent time with our hosts for the evening, the fabulous Masin Family of Masins Fine Furnishings and Interior Design (pictured Anne and Dave Masin).

And then on Saturday it was all business. I was joined by some very talented women in the design industry for a Table Talk design seminar and panel:
Featured Speaker, designer Tobi Fairley is as kind as she is talented

Panelist 1: designer and author of The Collected Tabletop, Kathy Greeley. I would move mountains (or fly over them) to attend one of Kathy’s dinner parties.

Panelist 2: table top expert and most gracious lady Diane Akana, from Neiman Marcus Bellevue. Diane and I hit it off right away, and feel like we met a new best friend on the playground! She’s a gem.

And finally, moi! It was an honor to share my own tips on gracious table manners! So often people think that manners are of the past. However, based on the questions and engagement from Saturday’s audience, I’m happy to say people are still interested and excited to live life to its full and gracious potential. Music to my mannerly ears.

Many from the seminar asked about getting notes from my talk! Most of the points I made can be found in a post I wrote for Forbes last February!

Happy dining friends and may we all put our best fork forward!
