12 days of Gracious Living Day 8: Cordially Yours!

by Mindy Lockard on December 22, 2010

In the hustle and bustle of the holidays I’m a day short in our 12 days of Gracious Living. So, with that said today we bring you a two for one . . . or as I like to say, twice the fun!

day-8

As promised here is our favorite recipe for an after (or for that matter, before dinner) cordial!  I can’t decide what I love more the taste or the fantastic color.  It can also be served as is as a mock-cordial, Elle and Maggie’s favorite!

Before we get started with the recipe, I’d like to thank the Junior League of Eugene’s Savor the Flavor of Oregon cookbook for sharing this most wonderful drink!

Hot (we serve it cold too) Cranberry Citrus Punch

  • 1 (32-ounce) bottle cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1/2 cup reconstituted lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup reconstituted lime juice
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

In a large pot (or kettle), combine first seven ingredients and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes. Remove spices. Serve hot in a mug, in a tumbler over ice or shake with your favorite (ours is vodka) it’s all quite nice!

We delivered these cordials to a few of our closest friends.  With a funnel we filled our IKEA bottles with the juice.

And delivered with cheer!

Cordially yours,

The Gracious Girl (Mindy Lockard)

Now for day 9…

day-9

We bring you the holiday tips I gave on when I SKYPED in on San Francisco’s 7 Live (I’m at minute 27:22, so pour yourself a cordial and enjoy the show!)

Merry! Merry!

Sounds yummy!!! I love that it’s non alcoholic too. As a non drinker I have trouble finding fun drinks for myself and gifts!
