Day Two NYC: Hudson Valley With One Gracious Lady and 400 Amazing Tweens

by Mindy Lockard on June 23, 2010

Late Tuesday afternoon, I hopped aboard the Metro North train, destination Hastings on Hudson.  Where this fabulous woman picked me up and played hostess with the mostess!  I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my time with her and how greatful I am for her belief in gracious living!  Many thanks Patricia, you are a lovely woman and I consider you a dear friend!

Back to the post at hand… We spent the evening with her family and the next day she dropped me off at the local middle school where I presented a 6 hour program for 400 plus tweens. 400 plus tweens who were amazing!  I wish I had pictures to show you, but to be honest keeping the group entertained was my number one goal.  Do you know what happens when 400 tweens get restless? I don’t, but I can’t imagine it’s good.

I do have a little recap to show you.  YouTube videos are a great way for me to communicate before and after a program–not to mention the students think I’m famous because I’m on YouTube. And no, I did not mention that YouTube’s tag line is “Broadcast Yourself”.  That will be our little secret!

Enjoy!

Thank-you for coming to our Ardsley Middle School and for sharing the value of good manners. As school lets out for the Summer, I know our tweens will have time to practice some of the “S’s” that you shared while having a gracious break at camp, on vacation with family and friends!

Thank you, Patricia! I had such a wonderful time meeting your family and working with the tweens at Ardsley Middle School. I truly appreciate you introducing me and for supporting my mission. You are such an inspiration to me!

It sounds like the session with the middle school students went wonderfully, as I knew it would! I am so happy that you got to visit them and start their summer off right. Enjoy the rest of the your trip and safe travels.

Thank you, Elizabeth. Dinner for one isn’t the same as dinner for three! Next time.
