Dos and Taboos to Trip the Light “Fun”tastic

by Mindy Lockard on August 21, 2009

I have to admit I owe the Lane County Fair and her sisters across the nation an apology for the many conclusions I jumped to without actually taking the time to get to know her.

We had a fabulous time!

Here are a few Dos and Taboos we picked up along the way…

Do: take time to learn about the animal exhibits.

Taboo: Hog the simulated goat milking station.

Do: Go over the rules for safety.

Taboo: Use  your outside voice to yell/tell your child to keep their hands in the canoe.

Do: Use a napkin to wipe your hands even when the onion rings are the size of a small country.

Taboo: Forgo posture and napkin…even at the fair.  Yes. Even at the fair.

Do: Think of others.  This sweet little boy insisted our entire group of four go ahead of him.

Taboo: Don’t come half dressed… seriously Ms. Fun House there are children here!

Do: Have a Funtastic time!

How lovely!

I always make sure to carry wipes in my purse when we go to these types of events. I fear they won’t have napkins!

Seriously laughing out loud… you are so dang funny. I love all the do’s and taboo’s, but I must admit, I may not lay a napkin on my lap at the fair. Wait…I think I’m clear though because I would not eat food at the fair, so I don’t count right?
