Getting our Words Confused.

by Mindy Lockard on April 6, 2010

I had just situated myself… laptop on lap, coffee within reach, creative juices percolating.

Maggie: Mom, I’m playing church.

Nose in computer

Me: Great Mags!

now I was in the groove…. feelin’ the manners juices flowing.

Maggie: We are about to sing.

Me: Sounds good!

Maggie: Will you sing with us?

Oy, the Church/Mommy guilt duo. A combination I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy… not that I have any enemies… well, early on there was that one sorority girl who put her hand to her head like it was a gun in the middle of one of my programs… no, not even her.

Me: Sure. Will you give me a minute to wrap up my thoughts?

Maggie: Okay, I’ll get ready.

Me: Perfect!

Maggie: May I use your Bible?

Although I’m sure God appreciates Letitia’s (as I call her, not really but sometimes I pretend) work, I did feel I should clarify the difference between good words and The Good Word. Two books Maggie will want to have on hand when she takes over the biz and Ty and I hit the road on our Harleys…more his dream than mine.

What good words do you use to live a Gracious Life?  Please do tell…

Liesel, I echo.
I love her, could eat her.
She will take over the empire some day.
Hope you and Ty run away on Ducatis, not Harleys, (They are Italian, red, sexy, and way FAST!!!)

The Bible
The Edwardian Lady
a book of a collection of poems given to me by my Mother (by Caroline Kennedy)
The book of hard knocks! Nothing like making mistakes.

pve, I’m going on a hunt for the Edwardian Lady today. It sounds wonderful and I simply love that your mother passed it on to you. My mother has handed down some wonderful etiquette books to me too, treasures! Thanks for sharing!
