Gracious Living, Getting Real.

by Mindy Lockard on October 14, 2013

I’ve been a bit quiet here on the world wide web.

Not because I don’t have anything to say, but I’ve been really busy with some face-to-face work and spending quality time with my girls. But I’ve missed you and so I wanted to share a little about what I’ve been up to. So in the coming months I’ll be sharing the food we are putting on our table, the DIYs that we are working on and my life on the road spreading the gracious word.

Last week was a busy week working with over 200 kindergarteners – third graders, armed with a basket of stickers and our book Elle & Maggie Make New Friends with the Six Savvy Ss.

We learned about Standing, Seeing, Smiling, Saying, Shaking and Sparking conversations. Important life skills… and you know what?

These kids ate them up. Not the stickers… those they put on their faces.

Next,I hit the road for a spectacular red carpet event at my client Masins Furniture in Bellevue, Washington…

to lend my support for a very important cause DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids)

Armed this time not with a basket of stickers, but a bucket made of forks. My design and donation for this fabulous event.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity to graciously giveback!

Then it was back home for a weekend of homework with this girl. I find that as my children get older, they need me more. Sure when they were little there was diapers to change and food to feed. But as they get older and their bodies change, their moods change (at any moment) it’s more hands on, more eye contact, more talking and when you don’t have the words or want to pull your hair out… hugs, and a lot of them.

And then there is time to be silly together. That’s important too.

Tell me about your week! I’d love to hear.
