Let’s Talk Potty Talk!

by Mindy Lockard on September 15, 2009

no toilet paper

Typically you won’t find me chatting about this…

True Story. I was lunching with friends a couple of weeks ago at a small deli — the kind of little deli with a one potty restroom. After lunch and before venturing to the shopping portion of the afternoon, I stopped by the restroom.

I waited

a woman came out

we made eye contact

I smiled

she didn’t

I headed in…

While I was in there, I realized the woman I passed on the way in — the one not in the running for a best friends’ contest — not only failed to smile, she failed to let me in on a very important potty detail: the roll was empty.  Not even one little square. Nothing.

Ladies and gentlemen we all use the restroom. It’s true. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s simple; say it with me “T.O.I.L.E.T P.A.P.E.R!” Yes, we all know it. Most of us use it (hopefully) so when you notice a restroom is out, be the one to make it known by letting the person behind you in line know or better yet pass the information along to someone who works at the establishment.

Talking about what happens in the potty isn’t good manners but making sure someone isn’t left high and NOT dry is not polite potty behavior.  So let’s all take a moment to make sure we use good manners with everyone… even those we pass in the potty line.

That’s just tacky. My children even know better!

Such a funny post. Not so funny that you were left squareless.
