Take to the Table Tuesday Snowman Stew

Tonight we are serving a hearty stew with a cool finishing touch.  This simple snowman stew is perfect for a casual holiday lunch or dinner!



  • In your slow cooker add
  • 2 pounds stew meat
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups veggie juice
  • 1 32 oz can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 TBS Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash of white pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Cook on high for 4 hours
  • Add your choice of fresh raw veggies and cook three more hours


  • 2 large potatoes cubed and cooked
  • 1 TBS butter
  • 2TBS cream cheese
  • Salt

Whip in a food processor until smooth. Add butter & cream cheese, pulse until creamy.   Fill a pastry bag with the potato mixture with the largest tip and pipe into a piping hot bowl of the stew.  Add a sliver of carrot for the nose and chopped olive for the eyes and mouth.

Just this once — and without losing your composure — you have  my permission to sing at the dinner table.

a) this sounds exactly like my mom’s beef stew recipe. so yummy!!
