I stopped by Fox 12 Oregon to chat all things BBQ manners.
Here is the clip.

Mindy,
Wonderful — thanks for the fun “reminders”. Have a wonderful week!

Mindy – For the warm towels with lemon for your guests – do you slice the lemons and put out on a tray with the warm hand towels? Genius idea to have the wipes hidden in the tissue box. I am doing that!
Very smart tips!
Ridgely
Hi, Ridgely, Sometimes I cut lemon wedges and put them in a bowl and other times I soak the towels in lemon water. I’m so happy you like the wipes idea!
I LOVED this segment! Corn on the cob is one of our favorites and hey, at least it’s nice to know that it’s perfectly appropriate to – graciously – eat right off the cob.
I see watermelons slices in the segment, and I’m wondering what tips you have for gracious watermelon eating?
Great watermelon question Donna! Watermelon is best when eaten with your hands, and when a pesky seed sneaks in to discretely take it out with your fingers and set it on your plate. Thanks for your question and kind words!
Mindy, I love the warm cloth with lemon idea. I remember you passing them around just in time (right before I pulled out the 5-finger lick) at the famous Lockard Fish Boil.
Just because it is a BBQ – it does not have to be messy, one can still use good manners with cloth napkins, such as a bright bandanna! A bright bandanna tucked into a ball jar, with cutlery for each guest and fun china or melamine dishes add a touch of class. One thing I hate are flimsy paper plates. I have heard many stories of rings left on tables due to scimping and using paper.
Drinks taste better out of glass too and seem to stay frostier!
We have an annual “Lobster Lover” dinner and I found great bibbs!
People love those little packaged wipes or lemon and water bowls!

Oh, so is “finger lickin’ good” faux pax?
